HOLY CRAPOLY I'm Opening a Gallery!

So THIS happened yesterday.

And it was an emotional moment, I'm not going to lie. It's almost unfathomable what we have accomplished in just two months. The sheer number of hours, the challenges of working together and agreeing on what amounted to a mountain of choices, the stress and the MONEY...but darn it, we are committed to this vision and we think it's going to be BRILLIANT.

We have transformed the inside of this unofficial heritage space (this is one of the older remaining buildings in town), taking it from a very 'occultish' tattoo parlor with doll heads, Ouija boards and black walls to a white, bright and professional space that will beautifully feature over 20 local fine 2D and 3D artists at all times. We could NOT be more pleased and opening the door for the first time is going to be a big thrill and a huge milestone for us. Did I mention you are invited?

The opening day of Carleton Place Gallery will be on August 24, Thursday, and we will be joined by several local officials, the Mayor of Carleton Place and more for an official ribbon cutting followed by DAY ONE of our gallery being open! For this day we will stay open until 7pm (or later should it still be busy!) and then thereafter we will be open for business six days a week, closed on Mondays. The gallery, in addition to featuring the work of the gallerists, myself included, will also feature approximately 20 other local fine 2D and 3D artists on a rotating basis, making it truly 'an art gallery for the community'. I do hope you will stop b

y and I also encourage you to share posts, RSVP to the Facebook event, and invite people in your networks to check it out!

BEHIND THE SCENES - Here are a few snaps of the exterior and interior of the gallery etc.!
